Removing Defective Chinese Products from Our Stores

The recall of roughly 450,000 light truck tires manufactured in China is an ideal example of how Woloshin & Killino, P.C. goes the extra mile for our clients. While investigating a truck accident, our attorneys and investigators realized that there had to be another cause for the accident - and discovered that the Chinese manufacturer, Hangzhou Zhongce Rubber Company, had left a critical component out of the truck's tires. As a result of the lawsuit we filed, the American importer of these tires has recalled the tires, which were manufactured under the names of Westlake, Telluride, Compass and YKS.

When children were exposed to lead in Mattel toys manufactured in China, Woloshin & Killino, P.C. filed a class action lawsuit against Mattel to force the toy manufacturer to pay for testing children at risk of lead poisoning from its toys. This lawsuit followed the August 14, 2007 recall in which 436,000 "Sarge" vehicles from Mattel's "CARS" product line were removed from store shelves because the toys were manufactured with paint containing lead, thus posing a risk of lead poisoning for children. We do not believe that consumers should be exposed to unsafe products or that our children should play with toys containing lead paint or other dangerous components. China produces 80 percent of the world's toys, some of which contain lead paint. We want to make sure that "Made in China" will no longer mean "Danger." Lead paint is not restricted to toys: The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has recently recalled children's jewelry from China because of its potential for causing lead poisoning.
